Traffic Changes Coming To Prairie Grove Today

FAYETTEVILLE -- Traffic will be rerouted today onto the newly built Prairie Grove bypass, according to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.

Cross road traffic on Arkansas 62 will be controlled by stop signs or by new traffic signals at Mock Street, Parks Street, and Sundowner Road.

Arkansas 62 between the east and west ends of the project will be designated Arkansas 62B. Traffic will access Arkansas 62B by using connector roads on the west end, near Washington County Road 402, and on the east end at Sundowner Road.

Related work continues to complete driveways, crossing roads and the connectors.

The Arkansas Highway Commission awarded a $9.2 million contract in November 2012 to APAC-Central of Fayetteville for the project. The project is for 4.72 miles of the bypass and the connectors to the old highway.
