Public to comment on U.S. 412 section

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department will hold a public meeting Thursday to discuss plans to build a new section of U.S. 412 as the Paragould Bypass.

The project will extend south from U.S. 412 between Pine Knot and Pioneer Creek roads, cross Arkansas 358 near McDaniel Road, then go east to U.S. 49 near Statler Road.

The educational meeting will acquaint citizens with the project and allow attendees to share their comments and concerns with the project team. The meeting will include visual depictions of two options for an interchange at Arkansas 358.

The meeting will last from 4-7 p.m. in Meeting Room A of the Paragould Community Center at 3404 Linwood Drive in Paragould.

The public is invited to visit during the scheduled hours to view exhibits, ask questions and offer comments. For more information, contact the department's environmental division at (501) 569-2281.
