George Washington Carver Presentation At Bentonville Library

BENTONVILLE -- "George Washington Carver: A Vision for the 21st Century" will be presented at the public library Saturday.

Kerry Jones of the George Washington Carver National Monument in Neosho, Mo., will speak at 10 a.m. in the Walmart Community Room, according to a news release. The library is at 405 S. Main St.

Carver was raised in Missouri in the days after the Civil War. His fascination with nature made him known as the "plant doctor" at a young age, and his quest for education led him to become a renowned agricultural scientist, educator, inventor and humanitarian.
