Highway crashes fatal to two teens

A Jessieville teenager died Tuesday morning from injuries suffered in a Friday car wreck in Garland County.

Makayla Wardrobe, 15, was a passenger in a vehicle northbound on Higdon Ferry Road when the driver lost control of it, and the vehicle slid into the path of a southbound vehicle about 9 a.m. Friday and was struck on the passenger side door, Arkansas State Police reported. Wardrobe was transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, where she died at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday. Three other people, including the drivers of both vehicles, were injured in the crash and transported to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.

Conditions were rainy and wet at the time of the wreck, state police said.

State police also reported an El Dorado teenager died Nov. 19 after a one-vehicle crash in Union County the day before.

Devin Bradley, 19, was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling east about 5:05 p.m. Nov. 18 on Mt. Zion Road in Lawson when the driver lost control of it. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, state police said. Bradley was transported to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, where he died at 1:56 a.m. Nov. 19. The driver and another passenger were transported to the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.

Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, police said.
