In Jordan, pontiff urges swift end to Syrian war

Pope Francis prays Saturday at the site on the Jordan River where Jesus is believed to have been baptized. In Amman, Jordan, the first stop of a three-day Middle East visit, the pope called for an end to the civil war in Syria.

Pope Francis called Saturday for an "urgent" end to the Syrian civil war and lamented the refugee crisis it has spawned as he opened a three-day trip to the Middle East.
