SOUTH CAROLINA 3-9, TENNESSEE 2-6

South Carolina (23-3, 5-3 SEC) had game-winning home runs in both of its victories against Tennessee (19-6, 3-5) in a doubleheader in Columbia, S.C.

The Gamecocks trailed 6-3 going into the bottom of the ninth in the second game. Max Schrock hit a two-run home run with two outs to pull South Carolina within 6-5. Joey Pankake reached on a dropped flyball by Volunteers right fielder Scott Price. Kyle Martin walked and Connor Bright was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Grayson Greiner hit a grand slam off Peter Lenstrohm on an 0-1 pitch to give the Gamecocks the victory.

Reed Scott (1-0) pitched six innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory for South Carolina.

In the first game, Jordan Gore hit a home run with one out in the bottom of the 14th inning to give South Carolina a 3-2 victory in the resumption of the first game of the series from Friday night.

The game began on Friday night and was halted before the top of the 12th inning because of rain and resumed Saturday afternoon. Gore’s home run was his first at South Carolina.

Jack Wynkoop (5-1) pitched three innings of scoreless relief for the Gamecocks. Trevor Bettencourt (0-1) took the loss for the Volunteers.

VANDERBILT 9, KENTUCKY 3

Jared Miller didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning and Vanderbilt (22-6, 4-4) evened its series with Kentucky (19-8, 4-4) in Nashville, Tenn.

Miller (6-1) allowed 1 earned run (3 runs) on 3 hits in 6 innings.

FLORIDA 2-6, LSU 1-2

Florida (18-9, 5-3) swept a doubleheader against LSU (20-7-1, 3-4-1) in Gainesville, Fla.

Logan Shore carried a shutout into the eighth inning in the Gators’ 6-2 victory over the Tigers in the second game. Shore allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 8 2/3 innings to improve to 2-1 this season.

Florida scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Taylor Gushue hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to make it 6-0 Gators.

Jared Poche took the loss for LSU, allowing 6 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings. He walked four and struck out one.

Justin Shafer hit a game-winning homerun with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Florida over LSU (20-in the first game.

Shafer’s home run, his first of the season, came off LSU right-hander Aaron Nola (5-1).

It was the Gators’ first game-winning home run since Ben McMahan connected against Georgia on May 15, 2010.

AUBURN 7, MISSOURI 3

Blake Austin had three hits, drove in two runs and scored a run in Auburn’s victory over Missouri in Auburn, Ala.

The host Tigers lost the first two games of the series 4-3 Thursday and 4-2 Friday. But Auburn (19-10, 5-4), which could have dropped from first to last in the SEC West with a loss, had 16 hits to avoid a sweep.

Ryan Tella had three hits while Jordan Ebert finished with 2 hits, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. J.J. Shaffer, Damek Tomscha and Daniel Robert all had two hits. GEORGIA 6, TEXAS A&M 1

Robert Tyler scattered 7 hits in 8 innings, struck out 6 and Georgia (15-11-1, 3-4-1) beat Texas A&M (17-11, 3-5) in Athens, Ga.

The Bulldogs led 1-0 after one inning, 4-0 after five innings and 6-0 after six. Texas A&M scored its only run in the top of the ninth.

ALABAMA 6, MISSISSIPPI 5, 10 INN.

Hunter Webb hit a game-winning single to left field to score Ben Moore as Alabama beat Mississippi in 10 innings in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Alabama trailed 4-2 before scoring two runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at 4-4.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, Mikey White started the Crimson Tide’s rally with a walk.

Moore was hit by a pitch and Kyle Overstreet moved the runners up on a groundout. Wade Wass was intentionally walked to load the bases.
