Car Windows Smashed In Fayetteville Links Complex

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police are investigating at least six incidents of vehicle windows smashed near The Links at Fayetteville apartment complex.

Police records showed four callers near 1630 N. Merion Way reported broken vehicle windows Friday morning. Several callers suspected whomever smashed the windows used tee box markers from the complex's surrounding golf course, according to the records.

Similar reports also were made from 3087 W. Mica St., about a block to the east of the Links, and from 2155 N. Rupple Road just to the northwest. A rock was reportedly thrown through a vehicle's rear window on Mica. The Rupple caller said the damage seemed to be caused by pellets or BBs.

Sgt. Craig Stout said investigators believe the incidents are related. So far, the victims are only connected by location, he said. The callers didn't report anything missing from the vehicles.
