BENTONVILLE -- The public library will hold a workshop about the Affordable Care Act.
Brandie Cooper with Friendship Community Care will discuss how to enroll in health care coverage, according to a news release. The event will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Rotary Conference Room.
The library is at 405 S. Main St.
The Arkansas Insurance Department is partnering with the federal government to establish the insurance marketplace where individuals, families and small businesses can compare qualified health insurance plans and choose the best that meets their needs.
An estimated 572,000 Arkansans are uninsured, 33,132 of whom are Benton County residents. That's about 15 percent of the county's population.
March 31 is the deadline to enroll for health insurance to avoid the penalty under the Affordable Care Act.
Registration isn't required for the free event.
