Conway frazzles Fayetteville

Conway’s Jordan Danberry (left) guards Fayetteville’s Pink Jones during Saturday’s Class 7A state tournament game in Conway. Danberry finished with a game-high 23 points and Conway won 61-51.

Conway used pressure defense to force 22 turnovers, and the Lady Wampus Cats defeated Fayetteville 61-51 on Saturday in the Class 7A state tournament.

Springdale Girls Fall On Buzzer Beater

West Memphis' Alexis Hamlet hit a layup just before the buzzer to beat Springdale 46-44 in the quarterfinals of the 7A girls state basketball tournament Saturday. Kierra Lang appeared to send the game into overtime with a layup with 7.7 seconds left, but Hamlet went coast-to-coast and gave the Lady Devils the win.
