• Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, denounced comments by fellow Republican Gov. Rick Perry of Texas comparing homosexuality with alcoholism, for which people can choose to change their behavior, saying it is not "an apt analogy and not one that should be made because I think it's wrong."
