Rogers Optimist Club 5, Harrison McDonald's 2

Harrison Hefley threw four hitless innings and Kyle Easton went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs to lead Rogers Optimist Club to a 5-2 win over Harrison McDonald's on Wednesday at the Twin Lakes Classic American Legion baseball tournament in Mountain Home.

Rogers continues pool play in the tournament through today. Rogers scored single runs in the first and third, then added two more in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

Joseph Sultemeier drove in a run and also scored one for Rogers. Dane Olsen and Jacob Ivey also had a hit and scored a run.

Hefley pitched the first four innings to earn the win, allowing no runs on no hits. He struck out one and walked one. Sam Cooper pitched the final three innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits. He walked two and did not strike out a batter.

Blue Springs, Mo. 4, Rogers Optimist Club 0

Blue Springs, Mo., blanked Rogers Optimist as pool play continued Thursday in the Twin Lakes Classic American Legion baseball tournament at Mountain Home.

Rogers was limited to just three hits -- all singles by Derek Sallee, Joseph Sultemeier and Jay Young. Sallee took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on eight hits over five innings. He struck out three and walked three.

Jacob Bray threw two scoreless innings for Rogers, allowing two hits and striking out one.
