In Las Vegas, five killed in shooting

In Las Vegas, five killed in shooting LAS VEGAS -- Two suspects shot and killed two police officers in an ambush at a Las Vegas restaurant Sunday before fatally shooting a third person and killing themselves inside a nearby Wal-Mart, authorities said.

Detroit retirees face tough choices in vote

Retirees with pensions at risk have until July 11 to vote on Detroits exit plan from bankruptcy.  General retirees like Vardiman would see a 4.5 percent cut in their pension and elimination of annual inflation payments. Police and fire retirees fare better.
