The Colorado Rockies decided to hand out 15,000 Troy Tulowitzki jerseys despite misspelling the All-Star shortstop’s last name.

The Colorado Rockies gave out 15,000 replica jerseys honoring All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on Saturday night, but the back of them read "Tulowizki" instead -- minus the second "T."

The Rockies said they discovered the misspelling at some point, but instead of disappointing those looking forward to receiving the jersey, the team said in a statement that it decided to hand them out anyway.

"Is there something wrong with it?" asked fan Jordan Deuschleman asked, according to The Associated Press. "I didn't notice with the name being so long."

The Rockies plan to remake the jersey with the correct spelling later in the year, and fans can exchange Saturday night's version for the new one at the stadium or at one of the team stores.

Fans who exchange the jersey also will get a free ticket to a future 2014 or 2015 game.

"Many of the fans got here early. Took the shirt and left. They recognized it was a collector's item," usher Leon Thomas told the AP. "There were only so many handed out. They were gone fast."

Tulowitzki entered Saturday night leading the National League in batting average (.340) and was third in the NL in home runs (21).

On Tuesday, he was put on the 15-day disabled list with a thigh injury.

Let's have a brawl

Nine players and Reno Aces manager and former major leaguer Phil Nevin were ejected after a wild, benches-clearing brawl in Saturday's game between the Triple-A affiliates of the Dodgers and Diamondbacks.

In the top of the second inning, Albuquerque Isotopes infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena took offense to being thrown at by former Arkansas Razorbacks and current Aces pitcher Mike Bolsinger, and both benches cleared without major incident. Upon striking out a few pitches later, Arruebarrena shoved Aces catcher Blake Lalli and threw his helmet at a member of the Aces who charged at him. The benches cleared, Arruebarrena was tackled by several Aces and the players wound up pushing into the netting behind home plate and into the first row of the crowd.

The Aces are affiliated with the Diamondbacks, and the Isotopes are affiliated with the Dodgers. The game comes on the heels of the Isotopes' 16-7 rout of Reno on Friday night.

Reno wound up winning 7-3 behind Bolsinger, who gave up 2 runs on 9 hits in 5 2/3 innings. Bolsinger is 1-6 with a 5.50 ERA in two stints this season with the Diamondbacks.

From mouth of Jaws

At a time when the jury seems to be out on whether Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will perform at the same level he did in 2013, a former Eagles quarterback is ready to render a verdict, beyond a reasonable doubt.

Recently appearing on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, Jaworski was asked whether he'd want Foles or Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who like Foles was chosen in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

"I'm taking Foles," Jaworski said. "Not even close. Russell Wilson is just ... because of that system he is in. Russell Wilson plays with that defense, the best in football. He just managed the game very well. I think Russell Wilson has played terrific, a great maturity, but I'm going to take Nick Foles."

Foles' success can be attributed in part to working with Andy Reid as a rookie and Chip Kelly in 2013. Also, since Mike Vick was the starter entering the 2013 season, defenses didn't have tape on Foles, giving him an advantage during his truncated first tour through an NFL schedule.
