Hopefuls declare for municipal seats

A Maumelle city alderman and Cammack Village's city attorney each filed for different elected positions Friday, the first day for municipal candidate filings in those cities.

The filing period to be a municipal candidate in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle and Cammack Village during the Nov. 4 general election will last until noon Aug. 15.

Caleb Norris, 110 Pin Oak Cove in Maumelle and an alderman in Maumelle's Ward 4, filed as a candidate for Maumelle city attorney. Norris, an attorney with the Arkansas Municipal League, is midway through his first four-year term as a city alderman. Maumelle City Attorney JaNan Davis has announced she won't seek re-election.

In Cammack Village, David Graf, 20 Sunset Drive, filed as a mayoral candidate. Graf, an attorney with the Friday, Eldredge and Clark law firm, currently is Cammack Village's city attorney.
