Police Link Man To Car Break-In

FAYETTEVILLE — A man faces felony charges after police said he bashed in a car window on Dickson Street.

Billy Williams, 35, of 258 S. Church, was arrested Friday in connection with felony breaking or entering (theft from vehicle) and first-degree criminal mischief, along with misdemeanor indecent exposure, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Police were called to a parking lot at the corner of 115 W. Dickson St. late Thursday night for a report of an intoxicated man wearing overalls, according to an arrest report. Williams was jumping on cars and cursing at people.

Police found a car with the front windshield shattered and several coins on the dash and hood of the car, according to the report.

Williams was leaning against the front bumper of the car, with broken pieces of cinder block in his lap, according to the report.

Police said he was “abusive” to fire personnel and paramedics.
