The Osage were a seminomadic people with a life based on hunting, foraging and gardening, according to a news release. The Osage inhabited a large area, which included all of Northwest Arkansas. As a warrior tribe, they were feared and respected, and were well known for guarding against trespassers who entered their hunting grounds. The Osage also were good stewards of wildlife and their hunting lands.

The free program is at 2 p.m. at the Visitor Center, which is just east of the intersection of Arkansas 12 and War Eagle Road. The program is part of the Friends of Hobbs Speaker Series.
