BELLA VISTA -- A Bella Vista woman died Christmas Eve after her car rolled off her driveway and into Lake Ann.
Eileen Rees, 91, of 22 Castleford Drive was traveling down her driveway about 1:15 p.m. and failed to stop, according to a report released by the Bella Vista Police Department. A passerby saw the roof of her vehicle in the water and alerted emergency authorities.
Investigators found tire tracks leading down from the driveway and through the backyard before the vehicle hit the water. They determined that, after failing to stop, the vehicle traveled through the backyard, striking a pontoon boat and the dock before coming to rest half submerged in the water.
Rees was removed from the vehicle by EMS personnel and transported to Mercy Bella Vista where she was pronounced dead.
A cause of death has not been determined.
