Stout said officers are investigating whether the fires were the result of arson. He also said it isn't clear whether Allen was targeted because of his position as the Razorbacks' starting quarterback.

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said he was aware of the situation and wouldn't make Allen or his younger brother Austin available for interviews this week. Austin Allen is the Razorbacks' backup quarterback.

This is at least the second incident involving Allen's truck the last nine months. Allen returned to find his vehicle had been egged last November following an overtime loss to Mississippi State in Little Rock.

Arkansas' football season begins Saturday with a game at No. 6 Auburn.
