The Goblins scored a four-player total of 312 for a 10-shot victory. Fayetteville, the defending Class 7A champion, was runner-up with a 322, followed by Bentonville at 324.

"It's always exciting to come over here. It's a great golf course and they run a great tournament over here," Harrison golf coach Don Price said. "We're fortunate enough that they invite us back every year and it's always fun to win, and hats off to the kids. We played in Mountain Home the last two days and didn't play as well as we were capable of playing but we came here and played better. If we can continue to improve, come district time we'll be ready to compete."

Jackson Marseilles, a sophomore at Harrison, set the tone for the Goblins on Wednesday with a 3-under par 69. His medalist round was the clear difference as no other Harrison golfer was able to break 80 in the tournament.

"It takes some good scores to overcome a 69," Price said. "Even when we had all the other scores in the 80's, when you can post that 69 you have a good chance to win.

"Jackson's going to be a great player. He's just a sophomore and this is the first time he'd ever seen this course or played this course. But he's a really fierce competitor."

Luke Long, the reigning NWA Media Golfer of the Year, carded a two-over par 74 for Fayetteville. The junior got help from senior teammate Matthew Cole, who posted a 79. But the Purple'Dogs weren't able to keep up with Harrison as Jake Myers turned in an 84 and Palmer Hays added an 85.

"One thing this does is it shows us where we are to start our season, because we won't see too many teams tougher from top to bottom the entire season than Harrison," Fayetteville coach Scott Williams said. "The best thing about it is it's still early and we have time to improve.

"Sometimes it's different getting back into high school competition. Playing gets slow at times and you have to play with some different things. There's all kind of things that can affect how you play. So we can go lower than that."

Bentonville used a balanced four-man total for its third place performance. Nate Morey led the Tigers with a 77, followed by Tomas Mariscotti at 81, Wade Schaller with an 82 and Bruno Mariscotti with an 84.

Rogers High and Siloam Springs tied for fourth in the invitational. The Panthers posted the second and third best individual scores Wednesday, with Cody Beyer shooting a 72 and teammate Brandon Coale scoring a 73.
