Beaver Lake: Anglers can find any water color they prefer, from crystal clear to muddy, because of recent rain.

The south end of the reservoir ranges from muddy to stained, but water is stained to clear on the north end.

Aaron Jolliff at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black bass are shallow and biting jerk baits, crank baits and spinner baits.

Crappie fishing is off and on. Try minnows or jigs 3 to 10 feet deep in the midlake area around brush. The crappie spawn hasn't started yet, Jolliff said.

The white bass run hasn't really got going. Fishing has been sporadic in the White and War Eagle river arms, he said.

Walleye fishing is good in the White and War Eagle river arms on Flicker Shads or Shad Raps.

Average water temperature at Beaver is 49-54 degrees.

Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina said fishing has slowed this week for black bass and crappie because of muddy water. Crappie can be caught with minnows or tube jigs around brush and docks. Villines fished five hours on Sunday and caught seven keepers.

Jason Piper at J.T. Crappie Guide Services recommends fishing the White or War Eagle tributaries for crappie with a jig, minnow or baby shad 2 to 4 feet deep under a float. Fish around timber or lay downs close to a channel.

The best fishing is on warm, sunny afternoons. The spawn is about two weeks away, Piper said.

Beaver Tailwater: Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said walleye are biting from Houseman Access downstream to Holiday Island.

Troll or cast crank baits with some chartreuse in the pattern.

Trout are biting white or yellow Power Bait tipped with a waxworm. Small silver/gold Colorado spoons are the top lure. Effective flies include pheasant-tails, woolly buggers and soft hackles.

Lake Fayetteville: Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock said crappie are biting minnows or jigs. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms. Catfish are biting nightcrawlers.

Lake Sequoyah: Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah bait shop said the lake is muddy but clearing. Fishing should be good this weekend for crappie 3 to 8 feet deep with minnows or jigs. Try liver or shad for catfish.

Lake Elmdale: Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said crappie are biting minnows 7 feet deep. Try worms 10 feet deep for bluegill. Use jerk baits or jig and pigs for black bass.

Prairie Grove Lake: Dennis Kruse, lake manager, said black bass are biting jerk baits. Crappie fishing is slow.

The lake is open Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Only electric motors or paddlecraft are allowed.

Swepco Lake: Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said largemouth bass are biting a variety of soft-plastics from 3 to 12 feet deep.

Bella Vista: Harvey Horne at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting jerk baits, spinner baits or Alabama rigs on lakes Ann, Windsor and Loch Lomond. Bass are shallower than last week.

Bluegill are biting 12 feet deep on crickets or worms at Loch Lomond or Lake Windsor.

Upper Table Rock Lake: Aaron Jolliff at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said bass are biting Alabama rigs and crank baits.
