BATESVILLE 21, NETTLETON 0

NETTLETON - Joey Rodriquez ran for a pair of touchdowns to help lead Batesville (2-2, 1-0 5A-East) to a conference-opening victory over Nettleton (1-3, 0-1).

Kenton Crawford ran 10 yards for the game’s first score with 1:12 left in the first period. Osvaldo Espericueta kicked the first of his three extra points.

Rodriquez scored on a 5-yard run and a 1-yard run, with both touchdowns coming in the second quarter.

BEEBE 49, PARAGOULD 13

PARAGOULD - Sophomore running back Tripp Smith rushed 20 times for 131 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Badgers (2-2, 1-0 5A-East).

Jesse Crisco added 7 carries for 98 yards and 1 touchdown and Dakota Mahoney carried 9 times for another 84 yards for Beebe, which rolled up 422 yards on the ground.

Crisco’s 73-yard run in the opening quarter helped spark the Badgers to a 28-13 halftime lead over Paragould (2-2, 0-1). Beebe scored scoring 21 unanswered second-half points.

WYNNE 35, BLYTHEVILLE 0

WYNNE - Sophomore running back Antonio Davis rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Wynne (3-1, 1-0) to a 5A-East Conference victory over Blytheville (1-3, 0-1).

Junior quarterback Zach Morris rushed for a touchdown and passed for another for the Yellowjackets. Morris hit junior Timothy Strasser on the scoring pass.

FORREST CITY 60, GREENE COUNTY TECH 36

FORREST CITY - Bryan Adams ran for four touchdowns as unbeaten Forrest City (4-0, 1-0 5A-East) downed Greene County Tech (0-4, 0-1).

The Golden Eagles kept the game close in the first half, tying the score at 14-14 at the end of the first period and was within 26-23 at halftime.

Forrest City’s John Williams caught a touchdown pass and returned an interception for another touchdown.

Joseph Tripp had two touchdown receptions for the Mustangs, both on passes from Ethan Adams.
