‘Pot’ in truck bed, 2 on I-40 arrested

Two New Mexico men were being held in the Crawford County jail Wednesday after Arkansas Highway Police found about 100 pounds of marijuana in the pickup they occupied, according to a news release from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.

Jason Price, 42, and John Magnus, 48, both of Albuquerque, went before a judge in Crawford County Circuit Court Wednesday who found probable cause to hold them on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. A public defender was appointed to represent them. Bail was set at $15,000 each, according to the circuit clerk’s office.

Price and Magnus were arrested Tuesday afternoon after being stopped for speeding on Interstate 40 in Crawford County. Highway police found the marijuana in the bed of the pickup, the news release stated.

The release stated the men were traveling from New Mexico to Tennessee.
