COLTS

Landry, Angerer out

INDIANAPOLIS - Linebacker Pat Angerer and safety LaRon Landry did not travel with the Colts to San Francisco on Saturday and will miss today’s game.

Angerer did not practice Friday and was listed as doubtful. The Colts had already ruled Landry out of Sunday’s game because of an ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week.

The loss of two defensive starters is more bad news for Indianapolis (1-1), which lost at home for the first time in almost a year last weekend and has put three offensive starters on injured reserve in less than two weeks. Running back Vick Ballard sustained a season-ending knee injury last week in practice. Left guard Donald Thomas (quad) and tight end Dwayne Allen (hip) were put on injured reserve this week.

TEXANS

Brown out vs. Ravens

HOUSTON - Houston Texans All-Pro left tackle Duane Brown will miss today’s game against the Baltimore Ravens with a toe injury.

Brown, who was injured Sunday, will not travel with the team to Baltimore. A first-round pick in 2008, Brown has started 78 games in his career.

Ryan Harris, who appeared in each game last season with two starts, will start in his place for the 2-0 Texans.

BENGALS Cornerback added

CINCINNATI - The Bengals shored up their cornerback position for a game against the Green Bay Packers, promoting Chris Lewis-Harris from their practice squad Saturday.

Lewis-Harris spent most of last season in the practice squad. Cincinnati waived safety Jeromy Miles to open a roster spot.

Cincinnati faces one of the NFL’s top passing games today at Paul Brown Stadium with two of its top cornerbacks hurt. Dre Kirkpatrick strained a hamstring in Monday night’s 20-10 victory over Pittsburgh and was listed as doubtful. Adam “Pacman” Jones missed practice with an abdominal injury and was listed as questionable.

On Wednesday, the Bengals (1-1) signed free agent cornerback Curtis Marsh, who was waived by the Eagles on Sept. 5.

GIANTS

Webster won’t play

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - New York Giants cornerback Corey Webster will not play in today’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Giants on Saturday downgraded Webster from doubtful to out because of a hip injury. He will not make the trip to Charlotte, N.C.

Veteran Aaron Ross is expected to play for Webster, who had started the past 34 games.

Ross, who played in Jacksonville last season, has not started a game for the Giants since the Super Bowl in February 2012. He did not play a down on defense in the Giants’ 41-23 loss to the Broncos last Sunday.

JAGUARS Ebert promoted

FREMONT, Calif. - The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed receiver Jeremy Ebert off the practice squad and waived guard Jacques McClendon.

The Jaguars need help at receiver because Mike Brown has been ruled out of today’s game at Seattle with a back injury. The team also is without starter Justin Blackmon, who is suspended four games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Ebert was on the 53-man roster for last week’s game at Oakland and had a 5-yard reception. He was waived the next day and then signed to the practice squad.

He spent the preseason with the Jaguars, finishing with 5 catches for 46 yards and 1 touchdown. He was a seventh-round draft pick by New England in 2012 and spent time on the Patriots’ practice squad as a rookie.
