Two Arrested In Springdale Triple Shooting

SPRINGDALE — Two men have arrested after the shooting of three people.

Alvaro Rodriguez, 22, of Springdale was arrested Friday in connection with four counts of felony commission of a terroristic act, first-degree criminal mischief and tampering with evidence, according to a Springdale Police news release.

Julio Rodriguez, 18, also was arrested in connection with felony hindering apprehension.

The arrests came after three people, two males and a female, were shot just before midnight Aug. 31 at Y Liquor, 1817 S. Thompson St. Surveillance video showed two men walking up to a silver pickup in the liquor store parking lot.

Shots were fired from the pickup, one of the men fell and the pickup was driven away. Julio Rodriquez was believed to be the driver of the truck, according to the news release.

The men returned to their vehicle and drove to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale where two men and a woman, all between 18 and 22, were treated for gunshot wounds. The injuries were not life-threatening, stated the release.

Witnesses reported three men wearing hoodies were in the truck. A detective recognized the pickup from an earlier incident and connected it to Alvaro Rodriguez. The Springdale Police asked other area law enforcement agencies Wednesday to be on the lookout for Alvaro Rodriguez for questioning.

Alvaro Rodriguez and Julio Rodriquez were waiting to be moved to the Washington County Detention Center Friday to await a bond hearing.
