It's only going to get worse. These gang banger illegal's or even the legals are ten times worse than a redneck white person......Hate to see how they've ruined my town! Go home to Mexico!

Thank you Springdale Police for your dedication and investigative skills you dont give up and that sends the right message - that criminals wont walk free in our town. And lets not lay blame on any race or nationality. Our town is growing and it is one of the downsides to the anonymity of a larger city. There are good people and bad in every group so just because these two were of hispanic surnames lets not condemn all hispanics.

SH2-No one said "all hispanics." But in this case, two hispanics have been arrested for shooting three people.
Do you really believe Springdale (NWA) is better off with the large number of illegal hispanics? Who cares where they are from. They are mostly illegal and they have ruined Springdale.

RE "Do you really believe Springdale (NWA) is better off with the large number of illegal hispanics?"
What is the number? Are you sure it is large?

RE "Who cares where they are from. They are mostly illegal and they have ruined Springdale."
Really-- "mostly illegal"? What are the numbers?

the problem isn't so much, illegal or legal or hispanic or non-hispanic.

young men, usually bachelors, proximity to firearms, usually handguns. turf and ego maybe some passion? and booze.

booze+youth+ego, = poor choices in dealing with rivals or threats all play a factor.

"back in the day" before access to and willingness to use a firearm it would have been less "news worthy" maybe less life threatening to just get jumped my a rival in a parking lot...just saying (a.k.a. been there)

thank you SPD

Alpha-after driving around Springdale most of Friday and spending Saturday at Wal Mart, I counted almost 7,000 illegals. Around 4,000 driving 15-20 mph below the posted speed limit with loud Mexican music. Then almost 3,000 at WM who were either speaking Spanish or were dressed like my grandparents 50 years ago!!

Hispanics are approximately 40% of Springdale population. The large majority come here to work and they do work hard. I enjoy my Hispanic neighbors who are so family oriented it teaches one a lesson about living.

Yesterday our nephew married a gorgeous HIspanic woman. It was a grand affair. Very Catholic and very traditional. The wedding party was fabulous. Four bands and a feast for 400. People came from Mexico just for the wedding. The families worked for two weeks to stage the wedding. Made arrangements two months in advance.

The only problem was one Caucasian woman, related to groom, who felt she should not have to share the cathedral bench with others and stormed out of the place causing a scene. The priests ignored her, other guests politely ignored her. The happy couple were married.

Police Chief O'Kelley did a study a few years ago about Springdale crime and ethnicity/race. Results showed ethnic crimes were in direct proportion to their population numbers. That is crime is evenly distributed among races and ethnicity based upon their population proportions.

You can call the newspaper and pay a few bucks for the study. I had saved it for some time but I suffered a lightning hit on the computer and lost the file. The newspaper has it or you can ask the PD about it.

However, don't let any of this get in the way of another bigotry fight on a public forum.

Or, maybe, it's merely a matter of Northwest Arkansas having become a metropolitan area, rather than remaining the do-nothing conservative community it was meant to be.

Success attracts all sorts. Get used to it, or move back to Mayberry.

You could not be more correct. We need to open our arms wide to our neighbors.

What makes them so much more "family oriented" than us? The fact that most of them are Roman Catholic and have big families???
If I go to Mexico not knowing their language, culture, and customs then I would do just what they do. Find a bunch of people from Arkansas (or the USA) so I could live like an American in Mexico!!!!
I wonder how long that would last???????????
Buck-Springdale used to be very "Mayberryish" and I wish it still was as far as the language and culture.

Well, you can truly make exclamation marks but you do not make much sense.

Visit the NW corner of Mexico, just below the Calif border on the Pacific side. You will find entire communities of Americans, sorted by state of origin, filling entire areas. Few speak the native language, some are fluent in Spanish. Yes, they have their own American style hair salons, restaurants, etc. It's mostly American retirees, living the good life in Mexico where the cost of living is half that of here.

Go a little deeper into Mexico and you'll find large American manufacturers. All the management is gringos. They live in their own communities with their own services. Most of those management communities have armed guards. Rheem, Whirlpool, GE, Allied Electrical, Emerson, many others.

Go down to Brazil. Again, large communities of gringos with their American customs, shops, salons, etc.

In case you were never curious Americans have populated places all over the globe, especially where we want to take the cheap oil and minerals. We set up our own communities in Germany, in Singapore, in Australia.

Get out of house and look around sometime mccoy.
Don't be nutso.

Sorry, but I don't have the benefit of your travel.
I tend to focus on Springdale.
Why would these "gringos" need armed guards in Mexico?
