Public Hearings Top Bella Vista Planning Agenda

BELLA VISTA — The Planning Commission will hold several public hearings during its regular meeting Monday night.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. today at the Fire Department training room.

Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the rezoning of a parcel near the Highlands gate. The lot is situated between the U.S. Post Office and the Dollar General, and is currently owned by Cooper Communities.

Jim Morey of Bob Morey’s Auto Body in Bentonville attended a work session Oct. 2 to discuss his wish to build a body shop in that location.

The parcel is zoned C-2, the same as the surrounding lots along the Arkansas 279 corridor. Granting the request would classify the lot as C-3.

The commission’s decision will go to City Council for final approval.

Four other public hearings will also be held because the September meeting was canceled due to a lack of a quorum. The hearings involve three zoning code amendments on animal regulations, wireless communications facilities and docks, boathouses and other recreational dockside structures and one subdivision code amendment on retaining walls.
