The new Little Rock Public Library made its debut today and opened at 9 a.m. for library patrons with library staff members. It’s one way state education leaders hope to help schools that sometimes have to scramble for applicants in the weeks leading up to the start of classes in August. Teach Arkansas, the new recruitment and application initiative, began in December. By Saturday, the Arkansas Department of Education hopes to have at least 600 applications in the electronic pipeline for 2003-04.
