UALR appoints new admissions director

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has recently appointed a new director of admissions.

Katie Young, who was named the university’s interim director of recruitment in 2012, will now supervise staff in the newly reorganized Office of Admissions, leading both recruitment and student admissions.She has been a staff member since 1993.

Young assumed director’s position on May 20. Her salary will be $92,000, UALR spokesman Angela Parker said in an e-mail.

Young most recently worked in the College of Engineering Information Technology as assistant dean for undergraduate affairs.

In that role, she provided leadership in student-recruitment programs and provided student, faculty and administration support.

“Ms. Young brings with her a strong set of skills, high energy and creativity that will be key in building programs to attract new UALR students,” Dean Kahler, vice chancellor for enrollment management for UALR, said in a news release.
