Ruh-roh! It’s Scooby-Doo and gang at Walton Center

Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang take on a trouble making ghost that’s haunting a local theater in Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries. The touring show from Warner Bros. and Life Like Touring will be onstage at 6 p.m. Tuesday and 3 and 6 p.m. and Wednesday in Baum Walker Hall at Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St., Fayetteville. ‘Neighbors & Nations’

Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, 1601 Louisiana St., Little Rock, will offer a “Neighbors & Nations” summer day camp program, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 8-12 and 15-19. Youngsters in grades 1-5 will learn about art, food, music, dance, cultural and geographical aspects of Russia, India, Tanzania and Peru. The camp will also include a trip to Heifer Village by trolley July 12 to show the campers how children live and play all over the world.

Registration is limited to 40. The camp includes lunch, snacks, art supplies and transportation to Heifer Village. Cost is $200 (with a multichild discount for siblings - 10 percent for the second child, 20 percent for each additional child) through June 17, with an additional late fee of $25 per child for those registering thereafter. Blytheville workshops

The Arts Council of Mississippi County will hold two summer theater workshops at the Ritz Civic Center, 306 W. Main St., Blytheville:

Introduction to acting, 2-3 p.m. June 24-28, for children 7-12 who have little or no theater experience. Participants must be able to read well enough to perform without assistance using an unfamiliar script or text. Limit is 12 students.

Stage makeup, 1:30-3 p.m. July 8-12, is open to participants 13 and older with or without previous acting or stage makeup experience. Limit is eight; the workshop will include the use of liquid latex and other latex products.

The Ritz will also host a summer writing and illustrating workshop, 3-5 p.m. June 5, 7 and 12, open to students 9 and older. Participants will receive coaching in story development, writing techniques and illustration. and will each write and illustrate a complete storybook.

And professional photographer Richard Schlosser will conduct a photography workshop, 9-10:30 a.m. June 24-28. Students must provide their own digital cameras with a removable memory and will visit locations in the community. Each student’s best shots will be printed and prepared for display in the Ritz Gallery.

There is no fee to attend any of the workshops; registration must be made in advance and requires the signature of a parent or guardian.

Heart auction

The Center for Artistic Revolution will present its ninth annual Corazon (Heart) Art Auction, featuring heart-shaped works by area artists, Saturday at Boswell Mourot Fine Art, 5815 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, with a preview party at 6 p.m. and a silent auction at 7. Admission is free; proceeds support the center’s cultural, arts and diversity programs for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual youth.
