Arrests

Rogers

• Brandon Waroff, 29, of 2313 W. Meadow Drive was arrested near 24th and Olive streets Wednesday in connection with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor public intoxication after police say he threatening Don Smith, manager of Rivendale Apartments, with a 3-inch pocket knife. Waroff  knocked down a sign and was yelling before pulling the knife on Smith, according to police.

Springdale

• Wilbur Andrade-Zavaleta, 26, of 3208 Waterstone Drive in Springdale was arrested Wednesday in connection with felony interference with custody and misdemeanor violation of a no-contact order. Police said Andrade-Zavaleta took his son without permission. Andrade-Zavaleta was in the Washington County Detention Center on Thursday in lieu of $10,000 bond.

• A corner of the decorative wall surrounding the roof caught fire Wednesday at Colton’s Steak House & Grill, 4700 W. Locust St. The neon sign in front of the building arced, then caught the siding on fire, according to a Fire Department report. An employee put out the fire with a garden hose before firefighters arrived.

• Firefighters responding to a carbon monoxide alert at 1419 W. Poplar St. on Wednesday found a pipe from the hot water heater had fallen off, leaking carbon monoxide into the house.

• A vehicle hit a house near the corner of 11th and Magnolia streets on Wednesday.

• Megan Ferguson reported a person in a black sport utility vehicle snatched her purse out of her hand then drove away while she was crossing Walnut Street near the Center for Non-Profits on Wednesday.

• Nicolas Lopez, 1456 W. Olive St., reported criminal mischief Wednesday after a window was broken on his Dodge Caravan.

• Widline Richemond reported fraud from New Jersey on Wednesday. A money order purchased at Walmart and mailed to a company in New Jersey was used at Walmart, 2110 W. Walnut St., Richemond told police.

• Maurice Mondrage, Springdale, reported unauthorized use of a vehicle after it was released to the wrong person from LC Wrecker service, 1006 S. J St., and sold through Auto Easy.

• Weston Keene reported Wednesday fraudulent use of a credit or debit card at Walmart, 2110 W. Walnut St..

• Nicole Shamard, 1004 S. 19th St., reported identity theft on Wednesday. Shamard told police the billing address for phones had been changed to Miami and the phone number had been duplicated, racking up international charges on calls to Cuba.

• Joel Hernandez reported Wednesday a burglary at First Landmark Baptist Church, 214 E. Robinson Ave.
