PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: ‘Fair Tax’ Proposal Is Way To Go For US

Our federal tax code is broken.

It is more than 72,000 pages long and has had more than 5,000 code changes in just the past 11 years. It is so complicated even IRS employees can’t explain it. There is a bill in Congress, HR-25 and S-122, that provides a solution to this complex and convoluted tax code. It is called the Fair Tax.

The Fair Tax Plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll taxes with a single consumption tax, includes a “prebate” to ensure that no American pays federal taxes on basic necessities, and through companion legislation, repeals the 16th amendment, which authorized the creation of the income tax, and would abolish the IRS.

We have just learned about the gross negligence of the IRS and its attempt to harass individuals and silence free speech. It is time to put an end to the targeted abuse and intimidation of American citizens. It is time to put an end to the IRS.

Imagine a plan that ends the income tax, the death tax, the payroll tax, the capital gains tax, the self-employment tax, the alternative minimum tax, and the IRS. Imagine a tax plan that allows you to keep every penny you earn. Well, you don’t have to imagine any longer. The Fair Tax is a reality. It is the only tax reform plan that is simple, fair and transparent. It is the only tax reform plan that eliminates the IRS.

Visit www.fairtax.org/ar for more information. Then contact your congressperson and insist they support the Fair Tax.
