ROGERS — Four people escaped injury Sunday when the single-engine aircraft they were in crashed at Rogers Municipal Airport Carter Field after 8 p.m., authorities said.
Rogers Fire Chief Tom Jenkins said there was no official cause to the incident, which involved a flight from Chattanooga, Tenn., but it may have been weather-related. Temperatures were hovering around 32 degrees with winds gusting at 18 mph from the west.
At least one wing was ripped off the airplane, and firefighters spread foam to contain a fuel leak, Jenkins said.
Jenkins said the runway would be closed while debris was removed.
