Conway-based Home BancShares Inc., owner of Centennial Bank, will announce this afternoon that it plans to acquire Liberty Bancshares of Jonesboro, sources familiar with the deal have confirmed.
Centennial, which has $4.2 billion in assets, has about 110 branches in Arkansas, Florida and Alabama. Liberty Bancshares, which has $2.8 billion in assets, has about 45 branches in Arkansas.
