I-40 detour set for Prairie County

Improvements to the White River Bridge on Interstate 40 in Prairie County will require a traffic detour Wednesday morning.

Westbound traffic will be detoured 3-7 a.m. while crews pave the west end of the bridge, according to a news release from the state Highway and Transportation Department.

Officials said traffic will be detoured to the Biscoe exit at mile marker 202 and directed south on Arkansas 33. The detour will continue west on U.S. 70 before it is directed back onto I-40 at the Hazen exit at mile marker 193, the Highway Department said.
