Fort Smith police seek bank robbers

FORT SMITH - Fort Smith police were searching for two men who robbed a Fort Smith bank teller at gunpoint Monday afternoon and made off with an undisclosed amount of money, a police news release stated.

The robbery occurred at the First National Bank of Fort Smith branch at 2000 Midland Blvd. at 12:34 p.m., the release stated.

It said two black men entered the bank, went to a teller and demanded money. One appeared to have a semi-automatic handgun, according to the release. They ran away, jumping over a brick wall behind the bank.

One was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a dark-colored bandanna over his face. The other was wearing a blue shirt, a black-andwhite hat and a colored bandanna over his face.

The release stated the two should be considered armed and dangerous.

Fort Smith police request that anyone with information about the suspects to contact the Fort Smith Police Department at 709-5000.
