Police investigating robbery of taxi driver

2:30 p.m. update Police arrested two men and a juvenile in connection with the robbery, according to an arrest report. Alberto Delatorre, 18, Javaughntaiye Willis, 21, and a 17-year-old were arrested, according to the report.


FAYETTEVILLE — Police said they are investigating a machete robbery on Betty Jo Drive.

Sgt. Craig Stout said officers were called to Betty Jo and Wedington drives at 2:52 a.m. to investigate a robbery.

A driver for NWA Taxi told police he had just dropped someone off at a residence on Betty Jo Drive.

Stout sad the driver pulled over to write a report when he was approached by three men who demanded money.

One of the men was armed with a machete, police said. Stout said the men took the driver's wallet and cellphone.

No one was injured.

Stout said the incident is still being investigated.

"They hauled off a bunch of people for questioning," he said. "When all is said and done I think we'll arrest the bad guys."
