Missouri Man Arrested

BENTONVILLE — A Seneca, Mo., man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the rape of two children.

William Harry Todd Sr., 39, is being held in the Benton County Jail in connection with two counts of rape, a Class Y felony; and sexual assault in the second degree, a Class B felony. Prosecutors have not filed formal charges against Todd.

A woman reported in November 2012 her 11-year-old son had been sexually assaulted by Todd, according to court documents.

The affidavit states the woman and her son had watched an episode of the television show “Law and Order” and the boy later asked her about sodomy and she explained it to him. The affidavit states the boy then told his mother Todd had sexually abused him.

The boy later was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Benton County where he claimed Todd gave him liquor and did “bad things to him,” according to court documents.

Rogers police interviewed Todd and he denied the allegations. Todd also denied the allegations when police had the boy call Todd to record the conversation, according to court documents.

The grandmother of a 5-year-old girl also reported Todd sexually abused her granddaughter. The girl was also interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center, according to court documents.

Todd was being held Thursday in the Benton County Jail on a $100,000 bond set.
