Just after 7 p.m. Saturday, authorities received a 911 call about a shooting at 3489 Arkansas 301. Once at the scene, they found the bodies of the two women and a wounded child.

The two women were identified as Dana Hill, 33, a resident of the home, and Julie Hartsfield, 54, of Waldo. The child was identified as Autumn Hartsfield, 9. She was transported with injuries to a Hot Springs hospital, where she later died.

Police took 43-year-old Timothy Allen Hill, also a resident of 3489 Arkansas 301, into custody at the scene. He was still being held in connection with the deaths as of Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The Texarkana Gazette reported Sunday that Ninth Judicial District prosecutor Brian Chesshir confirmed that Timothy Allen Hill was married to Dana Hill. Julie Hartsfield was Dana Hill’s mother and Autumn Hartsfield was her niece, the newspaper reported.

State police spokesman Bill Sadler said Sunday evening that investigators believed the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute, police said.

Sadler said that Chesshir had not been fully informed of the case yet and that the state police did not have any more information as of Sunday evening.

Pike County officials said Sunday that state police had taken over the investigation.
