LITTLE ROCK The entire state is under a slight risk for severe weather in a storm system set to move through Arkansas on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service says strong-to-damaging winds and even a tornado are possible as a line of storms crosses the state.
According to an outlook issued by the agency Monday morning, a cold front will trigger showers and thunderstorms in western and northern parts of the state Tuesday afternoon and evening.
The front will drop rain in southern and eastern Arkansas as it moves through the state into the night, the weather service said. Rainfall is expected to range from 1 to 2 inches in most places to as much as 4 inches in parts of the state north of a line from Murfreesboro to Conway to Hardy.
The front will spur a line of thunderstorms, where "strong to damaging winds will be possible," officials said.
"... [A]n isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out," the weather service said in a statement. "But the threat is low."
Isolated to scattered showers are forecast Monday across much of the state, but those storms are not expected to reach severe levels.
