The "old eyesore" was home to Ozark Guidance Center back in the 1980's and probably before. I don't think there were really any permanent occupants in there since the early to mid 90's when that organization re-located. I kept seeing "For Sale" signs from time to time, but it remained unoccupied. Wonder if the current owner had insurance?

Yes, it could have been one of the friction fires, that is when the morgage papers rub up against the insurance papers.

Looks like a good and thorough burn. Bet the homes to the east of the building got a good smoking.

Jim, drive by it now, it's more of a eyesore now than ever. Wonder how long it will take the Chief Building Official to get this mess removed. The CBO has been working on the Sunrise Inn for years and it is still standing, the council had to step in and pull their business license, but the blight to the city still exist, does the CBO not know how to do his job. THe same CBO has been messing around for years on this church building and never got anything done and it continues to be a blight and a eyesore. Both of these locations are on a major highway, all this says is welcome to Springdale the town that looks like crap and the Chief Building Inspector and his many minions in code enforcement have and are letting Springdale become a dump. Shame on them and shame on Sprouse for letting them get by with this incompetence. Why is it that the News gives this bunch a free walk when the questions and red flags are obvious ?
