100 YEARS AGO Jan. 12, 1913 Owing to the fact that the Petit-Galloway Plumbing Company, 114 East Seventh street, has declared for an open shop on plumbers, all their union employees and helpers quit work Saturday noon, and according to statements made, will not return to work Monday morning. An employee of the Petit-Galloway company said last night the union men walked out because some young men employed by the firm as helpers were not receiving as much for their services as the union thought they should.
