Six of the seven airports in Arkansas that use air traffic control towers to manage flight operations stand to lose their tower services or see cuts in the number of hours their towers operate, if federal spending cuts take place, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Let me get this straight, "Six of the seven airports in Arkansas" but only 160 towers nationwide will be affected by this so-called crisis disguised as sequestration? Does it dawn on anyone else that 86% of the airports in Arkansas are being threatened but only 29% of all the Part 139 certified airports in the United States with operating control towers (543) are going to be impacted? I wonder if the current administration is mad at us because we turned on them during the last election.
When is everyone going to realize that the sitting emperor is doing his level best to keep growing the public dole and is really upset that Congress won't let that happen. If you will notice, it is the Obama administration that is in your face every day about this issue, and not the Democratic party; they seem to be pretty quiet about it. The Republicans are responding as expected saying it is time for both sides to give things up for the betterment of the country in the long run. Of course Obama doesn't have to consider the long run, he is in his final term; but even that may be in question because of a discussion going on about eliminating term limits.
Are we so self-centered that we are willing to scrap our childrens' and grand-childrens' future so we can support folks that won't contribute, or make rules and set up agencies that aren't needed?
It is time to look into the mirror and decide whether you are proud of yourself and what you are leaving for future generations.
