Five killed after four crashes on state roads

Over the past eight days, five people died in crashes on Arkansas roadways, according to Arkansas State Police fatal crash reports.

On Sunday, Tasha Annette Holder, 43, of Manila was heading north on Arkansas 77 just south of Manila at about 8:40 a.m. when her 2000 Ford pickup left the road, struck a utility pole and overturned, ejecting Holder.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Feb. 17, Caner Gulsoy was driving east on Interstate 630 near the Fair Park exit in Little Rock when his vehicle “veered to the left,” struck a wall and overturned at 2:32 a.m.

Gulsoy, 22, of Little Rock was injured. One of his passengers, Angela Scarbrough, 26, of 2820 David O Young Road in Benton died in the crash.

At 11:34 p.m. that day, a 2005 Ford Mustang traveling west on Cow Face Road in Benton County drove off the road and down an embankment, striking a tree.

The driver, Miguel Vega-Andrade, 21, of 2337 Eleanor St. in Springdale and Kevin Zamudio, 18, of 2204 Jean St. in Springdale died in the crash.

Another passenger, Abilene Jimenez, 18, also of Springdale, was injured in the crash.

Last Monday, a westbound truck’s trailer shifted into the eastbound lanes on U.S. 64 in Crittenden County and struck a 2012 Hyundai Sonata at about 12:40 p.m.

The driver of the car, Timothy Jarrett, 36, of 105 Cole St. in Harrisburg was injured in the crash. His passenger, Amy Jarrett, 32, of the same address was killed in the crash.
