China tops U.S. in global trading

Shipping containers are stacked at the Yangshan Deep Water Port in Shanghai, China, on Jan. 31. Last month, China’s trade expanded with exports rising 25 percent from a year earlier and imports increasing 28.8 percent, according to government data released Friday.
China surpassed the U.S. last year to become the world’s biggest trading nation as measured by the sum of exports and imports of goods, official figures from both countries show.
