CHRISTMAS WISH LISTS

Nonprofit organizations need holiday help, too

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

  • Mother Teresa

As we do every year, NWA Media has invited the nonprofit organizations that help our community all year to ask for help in return.

Their wish lists will wrap up the holiday season in the Our Town section.

Arts Center of the Ozarks

What: The Arts Center of the Ozarks, now in its 47th season, is a producer of community theater and also offers classes in visual and performing arts, music, yoga and more, along with showing local and regional art in its two galleries.

Where: 214 S. Main St. in Springdale. Find it online at artscenteroftheozarks.org.

Contact: Kathi Blundell at 751-5441 or [email protected].

Wish List: Due to the torrential rains in the spring and summer of 2013, the entire roof failed. Repair to the roof was not in the original revitalization plan or budget. The ACO has had no choice but to protect the now-refurbished interiors by installing a new roof immediately at a cost of $200,000. A campaign has started to raise the additional funds to complete the exterior improvements and have a new roof. Donations to this new part of the ReVitalization Project is the Arts Center of the Ozarks’ most important and immediate wish. Gifts can be made by cash, check or credit card or by stocks. All contributions are tax deductible.

Gift Boxes for Troops

What: The local chapter of Military Officers Association of America has partnered with AnySoldier.com to send gift boxes and care packages to troops currently serving overseas. This website serves more than 2 million troops serving in war zones and military bases around the world. These troops request certain items to be sent, and the local chapter of MOAA gathers the items, pays for postage and sends them to the troops.
