Arrest made in 2012 UA rape

A DNA database was used to identify a suspect in a 2012 rape of a University of Arkansas student, according to a news release from the university.

Cesar Michael Figueroa, 22, of Springdale, was arrested Monday in connection with rape, according to the news release.

The rape happened Sept. 2 in the university's Parking Lot 14. DNA evidence was collected and submitted to a national database, which eventually identified Figueroa as a suspect, according to the news release.

Figueroa was being held Monday in the Washington County Jail with no bond set.
