SOFTBALL VAN BUREN 6, ROGERS HERITAGE 5

The Lady War Eagles had a seventh-inning rally fall just short in its 7A/6A-West Conference softball game Thursday.

Heritage (7-6, 2-3 7A/6A-West) trailed 6-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, but scored three runs and had the tying run on base before Van Buren closed out the game.

Taylor Easley had a two-run double and Dasha Donahoe added a run-scoring single in the seventh.

Abby Newton led Heritage with three hits and two RBIs, while Easley and Donahoe had two hits each.

Newton’s two-out, RBI-double in the third tied the game 1-1, but Van Buren (4-11, 2-3) scored four runs on four hits in the fourth. The Pointerettes were added by a walk and two Heritage errors.

FARMINGTON 8, GRAVETTE 5

Farmington used a 4-run second inning to build a big lead, and held on for a 4A-1 Conference win.

Sara Beth Jones was 3-for-4 to lead Farmington (11-3, 4-0). Oakley Sisemore was 3-for-5 with 3 runs and an RBI, while Payton Wiedner was also 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs. Brooke Larkin, who got the win in the circle for the Lady Cards, added a double.

Destaney Wishon and Meagan Ward had two hits each for Gravette (3-6, 3-1).

WEST FORK 9, GREENLAND 5

The Lady Tigers overcame and early deficit by scoring in fi ve straight innings to top Greenland.

Spencer Sagely had two hitsto pace to Lady Tigers, and Olivia Karnes drove in four runs for West Fork.

Tiffany Cartwright got the win in the circle, striking out 10 and allowing six hits.
