Disciples Of Christ To Host FaithLife Connections

First Christian Church in Fayetteville will host a Faith-Life Connections seminar on Oct. 5-6. Richard Ward, professor of homiletics and worship at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Okla., will discuss “Enabling the Word in Work and Worship.”

The seminar is part of a three-year series created by the seminary to bring topics of interest to local communities for understanding and conversation. Faculty members will rotate between seven congregations in the Christian Church ( Disciples of Christ).

Participating congregations are: Denver; Columbia, Mo; Wichita, Kan.; Kansas City, Mo.; Fayetteville, Edmond, Okla.; and Tulsa.

Each congregation will host a weekend event twice a year.

The format will include presentations on Friday night and Saturday morning. Then faculty members will lead a local panel on responses and perspectives,.

The program is intended to be ecumenical and multifaith oriented.
