Utility Seeks Person To Serve Out Term

— Commissioners are looking for a new face to join the five-member Rogers Waterworks and Sewer Commission.

Guy Cable, a commissioner since May 2008, resigned recently because he moved to another city. Cable’s term is scheduled to expire Feb. 1, 2016.

To serve the remainder of Cable’s term an individual must be a Rogers resident, be able to attend the monthly 4 p.m. meeting and have a desire to serve the community, said Joyce Johnson, utilities comptroller.

The person selected may be reappointed to the commission for a full term, officials said.

Commissioners agreed to accept resumes until the end of October.

“We want to find someone who has lived in Rogers for a while and has a real desire to participate in the continuing development of the utility in the service of Rogers residents,” said Travis Greene, commission chairman.

Resumes can be sent to the Rogers Water Utilities, 601 S. Second St.
