Riot closes Apple supplier’s plant

Fight turns into melee of 1,000 workers at Chinese factory

Emissions from a coal-fired power plant fill the air in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China. Foxconn Technology said Monday that it closed one of its huge plants in Taiyuan after a riot in an employee dormitory.

Foxconn Technology, a major supplier to some of the world’s electronics giants, including Apple Inc., said it had closed one of its large Chinese plants Monday after the police were called in to break up a fight among factory employees.
